battle royale remake

Saturday, January 13, 2007

read this, this, this and this.

it's official. there will be a remake of battle royale.

oh the horror.

hollywood is going to kill another classic.

in case u've been living inside a cave over the years, battle royale is a brutal and often terrifying film that became the latest in a long line up of controversial films to be shown on big screen. definitely not for the faint hearted.

the story:

A high school class gets sent to a deserted island for a Battle Royale. The government has decided that teens are too rowdy and it would be more fun watching them kill each other. Their mission, whether they like it or not, is to kill or be killed. The last person alive wins. Such is life.

right now, there's little to no information about the remake. but forum over here posted up a cast prediction topic. someone suggested Samuel L Jackson to play kitano which cracks me up.

maybe the olsen twins could star and there could be a dramatic scene where they're pointing guns at each other. then hayden panettiere (the rapid tissue regeneration girl from heroes) could throw a hand grenade at them while lindsay lohan knocks her over the head with a frying pan...

hey, that will be fun to watch.

i will keep you posted.

be a film producer. the 1 second film

Saturday, January 6, 2007

from wikipedia, 1 second film is a 70mm animated film that's just a second long. that's right, a second long.

The 1 Second Film is a non-profit collaborative animation project that brings together thousands of people around the world as supporters in the hopes to raise money for the Global Fund for Women. The film has over 6,600 producers and counting.....

simply put this way, donate $1 or more and get listed as the producer(anyone can become a producer of the film, and yes, that means you as well!). the film, shot in 70mm, will feature one minute (24 frames) of animation consisting of two frames each of 12 images. The images will be created by an expected 100+ participants who will gather the night before the shoot. the rest of the movie? 90 minutes of credits (wtf).

the real goal of this is to raise money for a charity, The Global Fund for Women.

it's a clever use of the internet, reaching thousands of people and giving them an inexpensive way to get something fun: producer credit in imdb! if you join as a producer by contributing as low as $1 via Paypal, your name and site link will be added to the imdb movie database as a
producer of this film. infact, some prominent hollywood celebrites have already turned up the support the film. imaging yourself working with Tim Burton, Ewan McGregor, Steve Buscemi, Danny DeVito, Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, and many more.

donate now and get featured as producers of the moment. and do leave a comment or tag if you did donated.

and there's another korean version of the song which is also sang by sun min and the male vocalist is shin hye sung.

movie. sinking of japan

sinking of japan

natural disasters. tsunami. earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. people dying. it's like deja vu all over again. *cough* the day after tomorrow/ deep impact/ armageddon *cough* only that this movie sucks so bad it makes all the films mentioned earlier, look better.

the movie starts off with a bang. but it didnt hold my interest long enough with all the documentary-like effects (hey, it's like watching discovery channel). The acting of the characters are so-so la but they tried their best at least, plot is expected but who can blame them making a predictable story. and what cracks me up is the almost-going-to-have-sex scene. wtf.

the explanation of why japan is sinking in this movie was done in the most uninteresting manner that unless you have a passion of geography, you probably won’t pay much attention to those craps. but i must give the movie some credits as it managed to stir come discussion over imdb about if japan is going to sink. lol.

i miss the godzilla and ultra man era.

p/s: i've been listening to the OST of the movie- "Keep Holding U" by SunMin thanX Kubota in loop. great music.

watch the mv via youtube.
